NAME

fstrim - discard parts or the whole filesystem with ATA TRIM

 

SYNOPSIS

fstrim [OPTIONS] MOUNTPOINT

 

DESCRIPTION

This program uses FITRIM (merged in linux-2.6.36) ioctl to discard parts or the whole filesystem online (mounted). You can specify range (start and length) to be discarded, or simply discard while filesystem.

 

OPTIONS

-l length
Number of Bytes to discard from the start.
-m minimum-extent
Minimum extent length to discard.
-s start
Starting Byte to discard from.
-v [mountpoint]
Verbose - number of discarded bytes".
